Select Current Year + X% and enter an amount for the percentage to create a budget based upon the current period that increments by the percentage you specify.
Note: If you are preparing next year’s budget before the end of the current year, first give yourself a pat on the back. Then be aware of how SurvivalWare does the calculations. Say it is toward the end of November 2008, and you have actual data updated through October 2008. You are working on the 2009 Budget. You want to show a 5% increase over the previous year in the budget. But you’ve got two months missing (November and December 2008 are not yet complete). To compute a value for the November 2009 Budget, SurvivalWare will take the 5% increase and apply it to the November 2007 figure to get an estimate for November 2008, and then apply another 5% increase to that value to get the Budget number for November 2009.
