The purpose of the Load Data module is to provide a mechanism for loading and viewing your data.
The first time you load data into SurvivalWare you need to perform four steps:
1. Export your data from your accounting system to a CSV file.
2. Create a company in SurvivalWare.
3. Map the line items in the CSV file (needs to be done only once).
4. Load the data from the CSV file.
After you create a company and map the rows, and you’d like to continue loading in monthly data, simply repeat steps 1 and 4, exporting your accounting data to CSV files, and then loading it into SurvivalWare.
A file called a Matrix File is created when you load your .CSV files – SurvivalWare calls it a Company. You can easily view this file through the Data Viewer module. Each time you run SurvivalWare, it reads in the last company that was opened. The very first time you run SurvivalWare it reads in the sample file such as the ITSI-sample.mtx file. To read in a specific company, simply go to File then Open an Existing Company, which can be accessed from the Main Menu, Rusty’s Toolbox or the Company Setup module.
Note: You can double-click on a matrix file (.MTX) from “My Computer” in Windows to open that file in SurvivalWare.
