A SurvivalWare data file (.MTX) has room for a fixed number of time periods. The Fort Knox Model allows 60 months of history (plus another month for beginning balances), 12 months of the “current year”, and 36 months of projections. Once a year it is necessary to do a “rollover” in which the oldest 12 months of data are archived, and everything else is moved over 12 columns. You would do this after the year has ended and you are ready to load the first month’s results from the new year. So typically you would do this in February just before loading January’s data. When you do the Rollover, you have the option of moving the “Next Year Budget” numbers into the “Current Year Budget” so that you can use these in Actual vs. Budget reporting in the new year.
