SurvivalWare 3.0 distributed to the general public uses a financial model called the Fort Knox model, which uses a standard chart of accounts with 10 sales categories, and about 60 expense categories for the income statement. There are about another 50 accounts for the balance sheet. In addition, there are about 40 “other data” accounts to help you gather non-financial metrics such as FTEs, Square Feet, and Lead counts. See Appendix B for the list of accounts.
This Fort Knox model also automates the creation of the “Peace of Mind” Cash Flow schedule popularized by Philip Campbell’s book, “Never Run Out of Cash.” (See www.neverrunoutofcash.com)
